New bluetooth option?

Yep, carpet pulled back. I'll give it a couple of days till my neck is better and have another go. I didn't put the carpet back properly. Fingers crossed !

Sweary words !! I don't if I'm looking in the wrong place but I can't find any sign of a multipin connector on the bulkhead !
With the carpet peeled back/up I can see the rectangular hole that goes to the back of the panel where I assume the cd changer would live. There's also something on the left hand side of the bulkhead that looks to have an aerial type cable. This is getting to me !

That's what I've got. I can't think what DSP is ! The second photo has the bit with the coax cable

Hmm, sorry I'm not being much help and I managed to confuse myself when I fitted the Bluetooth adapter - was basically expecting to find an empty coax connector as a) I had CD changer pre wired but no changer, b) mine was a 2003 so early and c) I had the fancy DSP (digital signal processing) equaliser options like 'Jazz', 'Church' available.

But... when checking in the boot I found the 6+3 connector and not the coax connector:

Which makes life a lot easier, so I didn't bother thinking about it any more. This thread gives sone more info:

But, what I can't see in your pics (and apologies if it is there) is an *empty* connector (either 6+3 or coax) which you would expect to find if prewired for a changer!

At the risk of sounding condescending, have you had a good root around all of the inside of that cavity with your hands? Or shove your phone in a take a video?

It's conceivable someone has played with the wiring before I suppose.

Many thanks for your help. I really am most grateful 😀 I've stuck my hand in the cavity and there's nothing loose. I did notice that , from the inside, one of the plastic tray things is loose, so maybe someone has been in before me. I'll try the phone video thing next

Having got thoroughly fed up, I bought this instead !

A big £6.99 from eBay!
I'll need to arrange a power supply in the glove box, but that should be easy by comparison!
Thanks again for the advice !
Neil
