Well I managed to get my interior wrapped in Carbon Fibre [textured] 3M Di-Noc material today.
First let me just say that I would only do this job if you REALLY dislike your interior decor - it is a right old pain to do. Most of the interior has to come out and an unbelievable amount of screws! I can see why BMWs are so well built. I also bashed myself in the nose and eye removing the gear knob - which resulted in a shiner!
In total I wrapped the following:
Dash panel
Switch panel
Centre trim [large section]
Gear surround
Slide panel
Centre trim [smaller section]
Door handles
I was going to wrap the steering wheel sections and the flip lid but time was getting on and I thought it might be overkill! Plus I didnt want the HU and vents to stand out, so other trim co-ordinated with them.
Its important to implement the following practices; making sure you do not over stretch the material so that it will not try to retain its original shape when heated again, performing strategic cuts to stop webbing and releasing pressure, only having thin sections of material behind the trim to relieve pressure, etc, etc! Like I said this is not easy job!
If your going to attempt this then make sure you wash each panel with a concentrated washing up liquid, and when dry wipe with Methelated sprits to ensure that your finish will be a long lasting one.
I took a load of pics because I know a few of you are interested in the quality of the material. Oh and there is no gear knob in the pics because my ZHP will be here tomorrow for installation.
What do you think?
Before:

I tried to get a pic of the clips behind the dash

Dash being dismantled

Rear centre console being dismantled

The 'string!'

Flip lid being dismantled - I have phone prep and BT so I had extra dismantling to do!

Handbrake trim removed

Centre trim now removed

Can you believe how much I had to remove???!!!!!

Not our of the woods yet - you still have to dismantle yet more trim!

There are so many screws holding the trim in place it makes me wonder why!?

Thank god - all removed, cleaned, and prepped!

My work place for the rest of the day

All done!

Gear surround with switchgear

Very good quality - like real unclearcoated carbon fibre

Testing mating the panels together off car

On the car
