New owner #312

Hi all, I'm the new owner of #312 :driving:
I used to own a z3m coupe around 10 years ago and still regret selling it to this day! Always planned on getting another but as you all know, they've tripled in price on average. Over the last couple of years I started contemplating buying a z4m coupe until recently the alpina rs caught my eye.

Anyway, I plan to refurb the alloys in the original colour so if anyone knows the paint code that they ought to be, please let me know.
I took it for alignment earlier as I felt the steering didnt feel precise. Gut feeling was confirmed by the hunter alignment machine as the caster on one side was a touch out Had a have a good look underneath while it was on the ramp. All in good condition other than slight play in one of the front wishbone rear bushes so I was advised to replace them and then return for alignment. With the mot coming up soon I think it makes sense to replace them to avoid getting an advisory or possible failure.

Has anyone fitted wheel spacers? The wheels look a little lost inside the arch to me, I really like the look of the silver lowered one that Number5 had. My suspension is in good condition otherwise I'd be tempted to lower mine.
So far I've removed the red alpina lettering from the front spoiler. Were they silver from factory or was it an option?

Thanks

You bought the low mile one in Devon yes...?

:worthless: :worthless: :worthless:

Hope you enjoy the forum. :driving:

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on acquiring your Alpina.

It'll be interesting to see how it compares to your Z3MC (although I'd have bought a Z4MC)!

Don't forget some photos.

I'm not a fan of the dark wheels so I'll be getting them repainted in the factory colour. The original FJ05 plate should be going back on soon.

I agree with you about your Alpina wheels - they'd look so much better in a lighter colour.

Love the look of your Phoenix Yellow "breadvan" too. I hope it has a Bi-Colour interior!

Ouch! :(

I can relate to your pain after selling an Escort RS2000 in 1984 for less than £2,500.

Changed the gearbox oil yesterday. Oil looked fairly clean while draining it.
Until I compared with the new oil :o

Love that you are putting her back to silver wheels, I have 19 and she does look good lowered but its a bit of a pain on speed bumps.
Welcome to the crew.

Welcome.

I have 5mm spacers on the front of #307 and also did on 019 when I owned it before Simon bought it. they’ll fit no problem at all and do make a visual difference

#019 was (and still is) on the Bilstein/Eibach B12 kit in case you’re going down that route later.
