new Z4 coupe owner, this detail concerns me?

recently became a proud Z4 coupe owner, having woken up this morning and to look out onto a typical wet frosty morning, I noticed a detail on the rear of the Z4 that concerns me, where water collects at the base of the rear screen, and has frozen solid over night. Or should I not worry as this has been covered before and there is no need to worry?

Maybe a regular coating of a sealant and plenty of wax through the winter is enough, would like to hear your thoughts.

Its the bird bath

Not an issue really, you get to enjoy flicking out the ice in winter! My coupe (2006) lives outside in Scotland and as such has an almost permenant bath there, not a whisper of rust or any ill effects
The arches on the other hand....

For what it's worth before the respray my clear coat was starting to fail in that area, was almost like white bubbles underneath

As others have already said it's one of the unique features of the E86!

But congratulations on becoming a Coupe owner. I think they are great cars!

Mine also does this, but luckily it is garaged. I only notice it when washing. There's always more on the passenger side, no matter where it's parked. Looking at these photos that seems to be the same for everyone else.

Have you considered standing beside it with a big umbrella any time it's raining?
