Oil filter housing seal

Well replaced several months ago, looks like it hasn't lasted long.
Oil over drive belt, alternator and running down to the belly pan.

I am assuming the seal has gone, again.
Going to buy from dealer on Monday and fit that.
Never know what you are buying from eBay.
Live and learn, eh.

Thought i could smell hot oil some month or so ago.
Also battery warning came up after unusually short period with radio on testing the amp i fitted.
Just as mot and road tax due and weather crap :cry:
 
On Monday go local dealer, get new O ring and some new bolts and fit.
Not messing about.
Oil is running out and dripping down engine running.
Ordered a new Gates drive belt, have old one i kept to fit for now.
Seal already on only several months old.
 
New seal fitted.
Buy cheap, buy twice....
Can be seen the seals are different.
BMW seal (top) has little bumps to centre the seal before clamping.
The cheaper after market hasn't.
Bottom cheaper ended up with a slight twist i assume causing the leak.

In the US they do some classy Vitron based seals..that’s what I did on mine..
