Range Rover Evoque driven!

92% residuals..... I've just done the Man Maths on that on a Pure 5 door .... and even taking into account 80% retained it would work out a fairly good value 2nd car .

I have a 5 door Dynamic White/Black that arrives in two weeks and have been offered a 65% GFV after two years and both the salesman and the finance guy expect it to be worth considerably more as their waiting list is already 12 months. A GFV this high is pretty much unheard off especially on this type of vehicle and shows how confident not only the LR sales people are but also the company they get their finance from (Sandtander I think) that demand will remain high and keep values high as well.

P

Agreed, the residuals will be considerably higher than that 65%, and of course a GFV could not be that high, just to cover themselves....but I can't see you losing any money, or even just a few hundred if you ran it for a year....

Victoria Beckham was used as a styling consultant on this one. I have to admit i thought it would look terrible...... but i like it

You dont honestly believe that tart had any real input into what is going to be the most important vehicle LR have ever produced. Its was a PR stunt that backfired IMHO.

I know someone who was one of the designers on the Evoque, and VB had more to do with the styling of it than you would think! Not all her ideas were taken seriously though, infact he had a standing argument with her about one of them! :P

I'm sure it was mentioned on top gear too...

Just had to post this...

My Sister in Law recounted this tale to me yesterday .. she was parked up next to someone in an Evoque i at the lights and she is not a fan of the styling of the new evoque.

Well this must have been obvious on her face because the passenger side window came down on the Evoque and the lady on that side of said to my Sister in Law ...." I know i think its ugly too.... he chose it" ... pointing at her Husband.

I have to say i really like the Evoque but this tale made me laugh ... You wait all that time for a new Range Rover .. and then that happens.

That is pretty funny ZermattV :D

I think in 3 door guise with the right wheels and in the right colour it looks ok, but can't see me ever owning one.

It is a lovely vehicle - but sooooo expensive with the right options. Does it work off-road ? Did VB spec special Hunter off-road boots for it ? :D

Didn't V Beckham only help style the interior? That was the impression I was under.

Before Christmas I went into the LR dealer with a friend purely to be nosey around the Evoque. It looked a nice bit of kit but wouldn't be my choice. There was new(ish) defender complete with exhaust snorkels etc etc and a RRS sat next to them which I'd have over the evoque (assuming the vast difference in cost was no problem!!).

In the garage the Evoque still seemed like a big car - it seemed very tall and wide to stand next to. Funnily enough though the other day we followed a one down the M8 that was alongside a MINI, and I couldn't believe it that from a distance behind the Mini actually looked as big as the LR and vice versa. I didn't particularly notice when the MINI had passed me whether it had been a clubman or countryman, but I was surprised to be left wondering - is the Evoque really that small or has the MINI got that big.

to be honest a well kitted evoque is pretty close to RRS Money and certainly more than a very well equipped defender
