Replacement for the E89 has landed!

Pondrew

Lifer
Spaldingski
Not everyone's cup of tea, but it fulfilled the requirements of the good lady and is great fun (and very loud)!
Brand new with £11,500.00 off list price. :o
Brembo brakes, KW coilover adjustable suspension, LSD, 280bhp and 420nm out of the box. And weighs less than an E89. :D

Nice- appeals to the boy racer buried deep inside me!

I think we are all 'boy racers' mate. Just not boys anymore!
I have had many 'fast Fords' over the 40 years of driving (40 years!!). I never had a bad word to say about any of them TBH. Good clean fun.

I think my Mrs must be a 'girl racer' as it's her car! :o

At least she has chosen something interesting!

It looks great in that colour too - I hope Mrs Pondrew enjoys it.

Sod her! It's great fun. I had my first 'play' in it this evening (being very gentle as it had 12 miles on the clock).
It's like driving a go-kart with all mod cons..
Coilover suspension is FAR more comfortable than an E89 with m-sport springs. I was concerned they would be a bit stiff and crashy on the road but they are lush (on factory settings).
And the matrix headlights....they are addictive.

I want to swap my Audrey for the Focus, but she is having none of it. :x

That looks very smart indeed Andy. Ford have made some great sporting cars over the years. Many moons ago I had a Mk1 Escort Mexico. I still remember the reg VPY 13S followed by a droop snout R/S 2000. Both great cars. I’m sure Heather will love the new acquisition. Great colour too.

There seem to be a lot of former Fast Ford owners on here!

I had a MK2 Escort RS2000 followed by a couple of 2.8i Capris and still have fond memories of them. :D

I have had:
1983 XR3i
1986 RS Turbo (the white, rarer, proper one)
1996 RS2000 mk5 Escort (not the best TBH)
1997 Escort mk5 Si (better than the above)
2000 Mondeo ST24 (just drank fuel and made a lot of noise TBH)
2020 Focus ST estate

This latest ST will be my 14th Ford. Three were vans (two Transits and an Escort).

You're way ahead of me on Ford ownership then!

1967 Cortina MK2 1500 (a clapped-out rust-bucket as my 1st car)
1978 Granada MK2 2.8 Ghia
1978 Escort RS2000
1982 Capri 2.8i
1981 Capri 2.8i
1980 MK2 Granada 2.0 (stop-gap)
1985 2.8i Scorpio
1992 Sierra Sapphire 2.0 GLSi

But I lost interest after that because they were all FWD, so I tried a few Mercedes and they just felt too "old man" for me which is why I'm on numbers 7 and 8 BMWs. :)

TBF for a good few years when I was young I had two at a time. One was a company vehicle and I had my own 'weekend' cars too, as the company ones were a bit 'boring' (transit van, then two Sierras).

One of my favourite Fords was a 1994 Mondeo 2 litre Ghia estate. I don't know why but that was a great car. I kept that for over a year! :D

I wasn't that much older and I was the 'dogs gonads'. I just never realised it at the time. :D

I had a Rover P6B 3500S when I was 20.

I just couldn't resist a manual V8!
