Never wrestle with pigs.... you'll only get dirty. And they'll enjoy it 8)

Love it!

Only never wrestle unless you have a chopper & spit roast to hand, such as 'least the car's not as dirty as your misses in bed'...

then the fight started

At least you didn't get the inane comment 'you'll only make it rain' or the equally annoying ' you can come and do mine when you've finished'. :x

I get one of these from one of my neighbours almost every time I am washing my car :x

Oh and - there'll be no paint left on the car soon

I finished work at 3am last week & stopped at a garage near work & washed her, people at work often se me at this garage at odd times cleaning & they think I'm mad! Still they are trolley dollys & all drive minis & fiestas :P

It's the Mrs usually saying it, and tbh I would climb over her to get to just about anyone else :D

Perfectly normal mate ! I've been known to wash my daily driver at night in the rain - can't abide driving a dirty car - as regardsb the zed only take it out when there's no chance of a shower and all the road puddles have dried up - if by any chance I come across a small puddle despite all my care I drive round it - as I said prefectly normal !!

I was washing my 5 series when I had it and it was dark and so cold outside that the water froze on the roof.

We are sad, but who cares! :D

I agree with the neighbour :P - would never wash my car in the dark, it's just not that important......not just the Z but far more expensive cars I've had in the past too......

we went away last week end so thursday afternoon night the car got its ful treatment.350 miles laater sunday afternoon the full treatment again.people just dont understand

My neighbours used to make the usual comments, but a quick rebuff of "If you had a decent car you would understand" Or, "shouldn't you be inside shouting at your wife" (that one was aimed at a particularily gobby asshole) has put a stop to it all.
Have also used "Pardon me for not caring what you think"
I don't like alot of my neighbours and make zero effort with them, those I do like generally don't comment, apart from my Gaybours whose comments are always met with "F**k off poof".

I do not understand why people who take pride in their possessions get branded as "sad"! I love cleaning my zed and will clean it as often as 3x a week weather permitting! My mother made a comment the other day saying what are you going to do during the winter when it's dark? I said il clean it in the dark I hate a dirty car a dirty woman on the other hand.....

I was washing my 5 Series at 9pm, in a dark, barely lit underground car park at the Hilton in Brighton two nights ago.

A woman parked up near me and didn't say a word, but I could tell she thought I was nuts from the look on her face!

I always get odd looks at weekends too off tourists, clearly confused by why someone would come to a seaside hotel and then spend time underground washing the car. I more or less live here at the moment though so don't really have any choice!!

Get all those comments and worse - and that's just from the wife - as I wash my car at least once a week and always when it gets dirty.

Mind you, I usually towel dry afterwards, but have been known to shammy off the rinse water in the rain ....

Oh dear I was doing that today, drove up to Bude, for a surf, after work. A few of the country lanes still have puddles at the edge and I was skirting around them. Then got back just after dark and washed all the flies off the front ready for tommorow.

Is there any hope left for me? :o

Class!

Anyone else wash the car, stand back/walk round and admire it, simply have to take it out for a drive, then either try not to use the brakes at all, or else feel compelled to clean the wheels again when you get back?

I might have a couple of microfibre cloths with the sole role in life to fulfill that purpose

Lol! Funny thread.

The other day my girlfriend was outside in the dark waxing her car under 4x portable floodlights! Our neighbours are used to it!
