The hills are alive with the sound of a Z4 - very picture heavy!

Well, no forum run abroad this year so decided last minute we'd head off on our own and I'd take Kathleen where we had agreed to go from before we got our first zed.
To Austria to visit the Sound of Music set and do the tours etc. That of course would tie in with the many passes and new countries to visit.

So starting with a ferry from Harwich to Rotterdam. Much less boat time than the last few trips. Also a daytime crossing for the first time and a lot cheaper, £368 return.

First night an overnighter in Biesbosch, nice hotel down by the river and multiple places to eat a few mins away. Then a drive down to the next overnighter in Mannhiem.

Then the first proper stop. Went to the Audi museum in Ingolstadt lots of nice cars, mostly liked the 80's, 90's stuff. Owned a few similar, a few I wish I still did! Then onto Munich

Then next day Motor World, a strange combination of high end dealerships touting their wares and cars on show. Some very expensive pieces of metal on show. From here we went to the BMW motor Welt. Lots of lovely things on display including a few zeds of various vintages.

Next day we hit Salzburg, with the inevitable incoming - The Sound of Music here we come.

We also visited the Eagles Nest and did the tour.

After a few days in Salzburg we headed down to Zell am See, still in Austria. Did take trips, multiple cable cars etc. Nice place to visit but the weather's been sh!te, pishing down since Mannhiem and still is! One thing you can't control on trips like this is the weather.

Tomorrow we're heading to Solden, still in Austria and the route out of here is the Grossglockner!

Will update as we go along

Great trip, have done quite a few of the places you visited over the years Grossglockner was a high point to walk down and stand on the Glacier.
Also spent a week in a small village called Krun using B&B's with days out to Mittenwald, Garmish Partenkirchen and a whole day up the Zugspitze Mountain also managed trips to Oberammergau and the castle at Neuschwanstein and the Summer Palace at Linderhof.

Great write up and fab pics..glad you and Kathleen are having a great time ….if you get close to Wiener Neustadt near Vienna visit the Diamond Aircraft factory….there is the Katana Cafe open to the public..there’s a small aircraft history museum…formally a ME109 factory there..if you go weekdays you can sit and watch all the new aircraft being tested plus any prototypes..spent many happy days there..otherwise enjoy the trip..and safe return…🫡
