Tinted PPF headlights

Random mess around for no apparent reason.

Customer at work asked me to tint his rear lights on his new Jag ex supercharged while it's in for his main jobs. ( Very tasty vehicle btw ) I don't use normal tint , I use actual PPF that's tinted. Got me thinking about the front lights of our cars , PPF is extremely hard wearing so this will protect the headlight plus with the light tint ... I think it could look good and add some visual enhancement. So... Today I scanned the headlights and machine cut some pieces so they are inch perfect . I can't wait to fit them and see what they look like.

I like how you go for the extra mile to get it perfect and make it durable, so props to you. However, even the light tint looks chavtastic to me.

Interesting to see what these look like on an E85/86! A very light smoke can really add a nice touch to the lights, I think

That's impressive.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how they look - they might work pretty well on my Silver Grey car!

My only concern would be whether they might reduce headlight brightness as even the Bi-Xenons on Z4s aren't that great.

I'll post a pic when I install them .... I think they are going to look ACE. If worst comes to worst..... No harm done . Plus if they loom good the protection properties are a real nice bonus . These lights are not cheap plus I often see them with the clear coat failing.

Agreed. I'll report back after I've installed.

I'll try and get them fitted tomorrow and see if I can take some pics.

I think it’s a great idea. I know Rally had a mild tint done on his headlights and they look great and because we have the same colour ///M I new mine would look good to. I did try it myself and totally fucked it up and the tint ended up screwed up and in the bin. You guys make it look easy and if I was closer to you I’d come down and have it done

What sort of tint is that? I think a very light smoke could look nice. Or even just a clear PPF would be good... like you say it'll protect the headlight quite well.

with these being precut templates they should be very simple to fit. ( he says )

Thanks for the support buddy ...... 😁

Took a pic of this one with the light smoke tinted PPF from the rear with the natural light on them from the shutters lifted, Convinced these will look ace on front the lights of the zed. Love the protection aspect of using PPF also as I've had to replace one and it was not cheap 🙈. I have no idea why I'm so excited for these. The HOPE is being perfectly cut machined pieces these can be installed by the end user as PPF is bastard to work with and not cheap. A roll of this stuff is over a grand .

Will get pics of the front lights as soon as I'm back up off the floor 🤣🤣🤣.

I was thinking the same. Would a clear layer not only protect the lens but possibly also stop it degrading and going cloudy?
