Cheers wondermike... it was a bit of a hack anyway... I have reverted it to text based for now... will try and make it work again later :D

Sure, no problem... well...errr.... it does seem to be a problem.... I can't for the life of me fathom this template system out... as soon as I find the piece of code I need to change I'll get it sorted :D

crap! I had to remember my username and password! hehe Obviously figured that one out. New format looks nice. Cleaner. Will take some getting used to though, but change is good! Very nice work, Jim. Thanks for all of your incredible effort! You rock. 8)
 
Fearless leader - I have one request. When I check the "New Posts" they all look similar. I cannot easily tell the difference between the ones I have read and the unread ones. I think this has already been mentioned.

Apart from that little bit I am quite sure that your decision to go to V3 is a sound one.

Are you referring to the fact that the read posts are lighter than the unread ones, but there is not enough contrast between the two? I think I may redesign these to be similar to the forum icons, grey is read and purple is unread.... with a light on the top right for your posts...

Seriously though, what is it about this that you don't like? It takes a bit of getting used to but I'm getting used to it already. This forum allows for multiple skins, so if people don't get usd to it and prefer it "old skool" I can put an extra skin on there that you can use... more like the old forum. This one had more scope for development though, so I think we'll stick with it for now.

Like I said though, I'm doing this for you guys, so don't worry... if you are unhappy I will do my best to resolve it for you... promise! :D

Gosh...I'm not liking this format much. I'm really trying hard to get used to it as I'm all game for change but, it seems so...cold and lifeless :cry: . It's not lively anymore, the colors and all. Still, I appreciate all your hard work and the time you've dedicated to this forum to get it up and running. It's a fantastic group of people, and that's what it's all about :)

I guess I can't win.... we had problems with spam users on version 2, and I got slammed for that... if we'd stayed on the old version longer I would have taken more abuse from people tripping over spam posts, so I took the decision to move early, before I had finished skinning v3 and now people aren't happy with that either :idunno:

I work a full time job, then come home and spend 6 - 7 hours working on the site... I will get it right in the end, but you'll all have to bear with me I'm afraid.

Sorry it's taking so long :bag:
 
Awwww darling....I'm sorry, didn't mean to damper your day. You will never satisfy everyone, just know that you are doing a fantastic job and everything you do is so appreciated. We are like a bunch of spoiled brats that never seem to be satisfied, but we are very happy to have this place. Here: :flyboyaj:
