What did you do to your Z4M today?

Yeah all that said I won't be selling mine for a twix and a packet of raisins :D
I just wish it wasn't that awful chrome finish, but anyway, first world problems.
Glad to hear my boring vids turned just one other at the least to the correct way to appreciate this engine, enjoy!

Bugger, thought I was on to something!

I did watch the vids, but it was hearing yours in person when I was watching over at Quarry, I could pretty much hear it going the whole way round the track  Good job there's no track side sound monitors at Combe!

Ah that's good to hear, sadly something you don't very much inside the car with a bloody helmet on.
Side anecdotal note, I don't think induction noise pings dB meters like exhaust does. Don't ask me why! Car is fine pretty much everywhere other than Thruxton after I removed the SS xpipe and went back to stock.

What an incredible weekend!!

Got back last night - 1250miles all in, including 11 laps across Saturday Sunday & Monday :)

One minor whoopsie on lap 3 when I short-cut the Adenauer Forst Left-hander after Foxhole - I was going really slow but just forgot to brake

I'll bang some pics up when I get a chance - got an absolute stonker with a front wheel in the air going through Wippermann.

Best lap was 8m32s - nothing special but I was quite chuffed as the latest geo setup wasn't inspiring as much confidence as on previous years. Looking to get that resolved and enjoy a couple more UK trackdays this year, and another ring trip next year!

That sounds epic! One day I’ll grow big enough enchiladas to do the same

If there's even a bit of you interested, don't think about it, just do it.

Honestly, you could go there and not go on track and have an ace time. The whole place is incredible, the atmosphere, the cars, the track, the scenery...

Equally I challenge anyone into cars to go there and NOT want to do just one lap.... aaaand then you'll almost certainly be hooked, and can say goodbye to all your money

We went last Thursday, ending our 7 day 3,000 mile Monaco GP trip. First lap I messed up in exactly the same spot, Wrong speed, wrong line wrong everything but managed keep off the grass. It was my first time on the ring and a bit slippy when it rained but other than the GP it was the best 150 Quid I've spent for a long time. We were pressed for time with the ferry but in September were planning a couple of days there, it's the ultimate car show but you have to provide your own clean underpants.

The current Mrs Winn and I did Munich last month- so I think it’s fair to say she is done with anything out that way for a while…

She did allow me to rent an M3 comp and stretch its legs on the autobahn to Austria…

I may just have to head to the ring on my own as it’s deffo on the list to do

So I'm having the cams swapped and vanos replaced on mine and upon pulling the head today the garage has discovered that the head gasket had either just gone, or was about to and went when the head was pulled.
Close shave, going to be expensive but it seems well worth it. Thought the HG was an early S54 issue but I guess it can still happen.

I schemed a Z4M specific snorkel for my(/any) Karbonious CSL airbox. I ended up not liking it very much looks wise and since it reduces the intake area by ~14%, I'm not gonna bother for the time being as I prefer the "finisher" lip I've drawn up instead.

I'll progress the snorkel scheme while I test the 3D material with the finisher piece.

Are you sticking with standard cams? Or schricks?

Finished front end refresh (tie rod, control arms and fcabs). All that’s left are the rtab’s and new alignment — hopefully won’t need to touch suspension and bushings for a while!

Replaced front duct and arch liner (see 2nd pic for the wallet-saving M-ification process!).

Always nice to have a bit of a clean out of all the crud behind the bumper too.

Also replaced one of the rear bumper brackets which had cracked.10 minute job but amazing how sh!t the panel gap still looks afterwards.
