What have you done to your car today?

The wrap looks good but I went the other way and skinned some actual carbon fiber:
More details are on another thread. If I had the E85 / E86 I think I would have some sort of design airbrushed or painted on that long dash panel.

Well done, did you do it?

Yes, thread for it here:

Taken the DISA valve off to check it and ....... its broken. :(

I have also cleaned the Idle Control Valve as I had it stripped.

At least it's easy to replace (or rebuild) the DISA. If you're going to buy a new one I'd probably get a decent brand rather than the cheapo non brand £30 stuff on eBay. I bought a Febi-Bilstein and had no issues.

Retrofit Cruise Control to my N52 174bhp Zed.
All easy except feeding through the wire loom into the DME, BMW instructions naff and so I ended up shoving it in the pictured pin-4 as per most others. God bless this forum!
Neat job done and works a treat.

Renewed the insurance - that wasted a few hours this week but I ended up paying £150 less than my renewal invitation so I suppose it was worth it!

Then I realised that means it is exactly 6 years since I collected my first Z4 - and I still love them.

Insured my Zed & X1 on multi cover. Saved £80 on renewal quote so happy with that  . Under £400, can't grumble at that.

Also, after cocking up my LCM after fitting my new Royals mfsw I fitted a replacement LCM. It works perfectly & I've got all my lights back :heat: . Just need to get it coded to my car now.
Took her out for a much needed drive. The feel of the new steering wheel really made it a joy to drive & I loved it before  :driving: :driving:

I've tried that a couple of times, but on both occasions although one car was cheaper the other one was dearer!

Ended up paying £422 for a modified MC, so pretty happy with that! :)

I had to smile when Saga said they couldn't offer a quote - my car is probably well outside their comfort zone!

Yeah, I can imagine your MC wouldn't be their preferred choice. Perhaps a Micra  .
I managed 1 year with Saga just after I turned 50 (a few years ago now ) with a Merc CLK. Quotes I've had from them since have been a total joke tbh. . I've been flitting between Aviva & LV these last few years. No one else seems to come close for me. Both cars are very similar in cost but I've only 4 years NCD on the Zed.

Just got back from approx 1,571Km/1,000mi trip in the Z4 around the South Island of NZ. I had to take leave before June 30 so as this week coincided with my birthday I decided to visit some family and some old stomping grounds for the week.
Didn't really get much photography done, might check the dashcam and if any photos or vids look ok I'll put them up here.

I only purchased my Z4MC last week and haven't had a chance to give it a nice clean. I checked the weather forecast this morning and it was showing clear weather today.

Typical that as I was half way through, it started to rain. It seemed to pass quickly and I continued. Literally as soon as I finished, it started to rain again!

Here are some pictures:-

Unfortunately, due to the warm weather, I did notice this appearing in the rear view mirror:-

The rear view mirror subsequently leaked onto the gear shifter leather surround and has discoloured it. I will be contacting MirrorJohn to see if they can assist in repairing/replacing the mirror.

I gave mine a wash ready for a run out tomorrow morning. Finished it at 6 and it was spitting with rain by 8 - typical.

Crikey , must be an age thing against you these days Ian :poke: , as got my Z4C for £200 with A plan this year :D

Went for a nice drive out from near Newbury to Cirencester today and found Harrys Garage's road he films on and had a 'bit of a blat', with the Mrs getting a bit twitchy in the pax seat. Car handles great after the geo done last week. Now needs fuel as used a bit :D

Went for a long drive today and stopped at the H cafe at Berinsfield for a cuppa, plenty of bikers there too. Just as we were leaving, I noticed a E85 Z4 in the local garage for sale and then we saw a G29 Z4 on the back of a recovery lorry.

Annual service knocked out today, usually do it around Easter time but lockdown etc delayed things and meant the car was unused anyway for the last 3 months bar one journey a week to the shops. Anyway, all set again but in need of a wash soon, parking near trees unfortunately means the car gets a lovely coating of pollen constantly, which then seems to stick a bit when it gets rained on.

Screenshot_20200614_163536.jpgChanged the grip on my steering wheel (AliExpress) and sprayed my black trim alloy silver. My trim wasn't in good condition so rubbed the back rubber down. One trim was broke so glued it prior to spraying. However, while putting the silver trim back on the wheel it split again. Will have to try again with better glue. Anyway here are the before and after pics.
