Windscreen rubber trim doesn't look right...

So, while trying to cure one problem (namely a creak coming from I believe the hood weight / rubbing as I go over bumps) - I noticed this :

Slight gap between trim and pillar :

And a slight 'bulge' in the rubber trim here :

Now I was thinking 'maybe the windscreen's been replaced' - but it looks like a genuine BMW screen? :

So now i'm worried - anyone else ever encounter this 'issue'? Am I right to be concerned?

Cheers

Anthony.

Could still be a replacement screen. BMW had to change mine on my last car after damaging it whilst sorting an issue. They used a genuine screen though.

Genuine screens do get replaced like for like.

The trim will 'shrink' to some degree; the corner pieces are a different composite to the straights. The bulge could be swelling (oo-er!) or something under the lip.

The trim isn't an issue as such. It's not a seal, it just covers up the unsighlty black gunk they used to seal the windscreen.

I had a genuine bmw windscreen and it was replaced with a pilkington one, so the like for like thing is rubbish.

Previous owner could always have asked for a genuine screen only though.

How can you say the like for like is rubbish when people have had genuine BMW screens fitted.
