Z4 G29 Delivery Delays

Thanks for the update on Touchscreen Ori, fingers crossed that they have enough to finish all the Z4s we have ordered on this forum!

Hope yours arrives soon, you must be tempted to go and pick it up yourself!

If it was possible, I would go and pick the damn thing up myself! Unfortunately not an option with the car being manufactured in Austria. I think you can still do collections from Germany plant though.
 
So I’m resigned to the fact that I no longer believe car will arrive next week. Unless there has been a system error and it hasn’t updated for some reason, I can see how it will go from factory….to Germany, to U.K. port to dealer by end of next week when it hasn’t even started it’s journey.

This order has been far from smooth.

If they want, they can. I remember my car took about 3-4 days from leaving factory to my dealer car park back in June this year. At that time, my sales person wanted me to pick up the car before it entered July and I told him he should worry about the duration of transporting from factory to them instead of me finding a time to pickup before the end of June. He then told me to leave that part to him so that I can focus on finding time for the handover. Guess what? The car arrived on the third day after the conversation and ready for handover on the forth.

I’ve just been told my car is delayed at least 2 weeks.

While I am sure they can deliver a car within a few days from factory, they obviously aren’t at the moment.

TBH, this is tainting my whole experience. This is a weekend car and is meant to be fun. Between worrying about spec and constant delays I am very tempted to tell them to sling it. I’ll maybe order a new car next year when the lci comes out.

May offer this car to anyone here who wants it.
 
[ref]ori[/ref], have they given you a reason why it’s delayed by a further two weeks? I know how frustrating it is, but I’m certainly not going to tell them where to stick it, purely on the principle that they can make more money selling it once it’s in the showroom, than to me.

On a positive note I ordered my winter alloys yesterday, Ispiri FFR1’s in Matt carbon bronze and they’ll be here next week. The guy at Demon-Tweeks asked if I would take some photos once they’re fitted, I stated that I’m waiting for delivery and by the time I get it, it may well be spring :headbang:

No reason at all given. It’s just been sat at the factory without being shipped. Has your delivery date slipped again? Or has it been shipped?

I’m just not confident it will arrive now until December. If that’s the case I would delay registration until 1st jan. If I’ve delayed registering until Jan, I may as well order the LCI!

SARS: Please will you confirm the wheel and tyre size you’ve gone for re winter wheels/tyres. I’m still looking for a compatible size/fit but need to make sure re offset etc. Thanks.

Yes it does. It’s in transmit. Left factory today.
Not sure how it’s now 2 weeks away though.
Surely yours has left factory at same time in order to meet your delivery? I’m sure yours was estimated for arriving at dealer wc 15th?

As I already had four x Continental AllSeasonContacts at 255/35 R19’s I opted to stay with those just get new alloys, they are 9J x 9, 5 x 112 ET 32

I really wanted style FFR6, but not available in a 9" width, but I think the bronze is going to look epic against the SFR, can't wait :thumbsup:

I think yours will be the same time as mine, but who knows? Might come a week earlier? If the code is 190 and has shipped then fingers crossed.
Mine yesterday was showing as delivery next week! Today it actually left factory and is delayed 2 weeks. Really not sure how this works.
Keep us informed.

Btw. Do you need winter tyres where you are? I know they are legal requirement for going to some countries in Europe?
