It’s totally an aluminium body apart from the bumpers.Graeme_NI wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 4:11 pmI do like these but no manual option and a high price tag will put a lot of people off. 50K drops it into Porsche Cayman territory, poor reliability and aftercare worries would put me off. If I was going to spent 50 grand on something made from plastic I'd buy a Lotus

i think this is better constructed in terms of the body than a cayman and lotus , it may not have the brand kudos YET.... but i think for a first attempt Apline is one to watch!!Zeld4 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 1:54 amIt’s totally an aluminium body apart from the bumpers.Graeme_NI wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 4:11 pmI do like these but no manual option and a high price tag will put a lot of people off. 50K drops it into Porsche Cayman territory, poor reliability and aftercare worries would put me off. I totally agree. Alart from the engine and gear box everything else is completely bespoke to the car so I think the 50k price is totally reasonable.Beedub wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 3:48 pmi think this is better constructed in terms of the body than a cayman and lotus , it may not have the brand kudos YET.... but i think for a first attempt Apline is one to watch!!Zeld4 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2018 1:54 amIt’s totally an aluminium body apart from the bumpers.Graeme_NI wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 4:11 pmI do like these but no manual option and a high price tag will put a lot of people off. 50K drops it into Porsche Cayman territory, poor reliability and aftercare worries would put me off. How they managed to build something 200 kilos lighter than a Cayman is just amazing.

Absolutely!!! the cayman is more of a z4m in terms of its contruction, the z4m and cayman have no business being as heavy as they are.

May be a good option further down the line if the reliability is proven and it depreciates. Caymans aren't depreciating that heavily so it could end up being a bit of a bargain.
With no manual box and being French, I couldn't consider it.

Really maybe i'm missing sme sort of usp but £50k for any French car is enough to cause a asthma attack let alone that front end that reminds me of a 80s Nissan
Side profile / rear haunches are pure Porsche rip off , i just don't get the car at the pricepoint , perhaps at £30k but above that i just see a white elephant on wheels
I can't imagine a massive waiting list for one

You’d like it , it offers a different answer to the sports car question the way the E85/E86 did and does.
I’ll keep you posted ... as to waiting lists who knows , only 140 Premier Editions in the U.K. ( most went to France) - Pure and Legend Deliveries are at the moment on a 12 month back order . But the deposits are refundable so how many people will go ahead in the U.K. remains to be seen.
