Looking to de-badge my E89 this week hopefully and wondered if anyone has used a stripe off like below at all, looked at a few reviews and seems a good way to clean the adhesive left behind really well without damaging the paint work.

Was going to start with heating the badges a bit then use some dental floss or fishing wire to saw it off.

i remove these on a daily basis at work for PPF, wrap, detailing jobs.... i use a nilfisk steam machine and this pretty much removes them with zero trace, the last pieces that are left i remove with tar and glue. not a massive fan of these toffee wheels on the clear.

i use the steamer at its base temp of boiling water..... i don't crank up the temp at all, so your swan steamer will do the job.... steam the hell out of the adhesive , and slowly prise as you steam, it will really easily release. Steam is what we use in the industry to remove PPF, vinyl etc as it reactives the adhesives and allows easy removals.Jay-Jay wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 9:44 pmHow hot does the steam machine go to, I do have an old swann steamerBeedub wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 9:36 pm i remove these on a daily basis at work for PPF, wrap, detailing jobs.... i use a nilfisk steam machine and this pretty much removes them with zero trace, the last pieces that are left i remove with tar and glue. not a massive fan of these toffee wheels on the clear.

Steaming was the way forward for de-badge, worked fantastic, thank you BeeDub
I used citrus pre wash first to clean the badge area, then rinsed of.
Started steaming the badge not keeping it in one place for too long.
Then used some fishing nylon to saw the badge off, made sure to pull away from paint work while sawing.
Badge came of easy, some adhesive left behind to steamed it then picked it off with my nails.
There was still some residue's left so used some tar & glue remover which cleaned it off completely
Job done, tomorrow will be washing, polish then waxing.
Car is filthy on the pics I know

no problem at all, steam is the ONLY way we remove badging, i cringe when i see cutting wires or fish line, it really can damage paint... well done for actually listening and executing well, job done!!! i can see you've heated that bang on as you have very minimal glue left.Jay-Jay wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 9:20 pm Steaming was the way forward for de-badge, worked fantastic, thank you BeeDub
