Gone but not forgotten- Again!

Post by Obs-Com » Tue Oct 31, 2023 10:30 pm

After almost 4 years of loving my M40i First Edition I took delivery of my new M440i last Friday. Drove one over summer and really enjoyed it. Same engine and gearbox of the M40i but obviously a very different package overall, plus it has the new iDrive 8 with the wide screen displays. Very impressed with the everything so far.

The M40i was the best BM I'd ever had and the best Z I'd ever driven by far. It will be missed but I wanted a change. Having searched for a First Edition back in 2019 I found mine as a Pre-Reg with just a few hundred miles on the clock. Luckily, I also bought it at pre Covid prices! Having secured a really good discount on a new build M440i, I was also offered a very competitive price for the M40i but on the condition that I sell it to the dealership at the time of ordering my new car back in August so, that's what I did. I’ll have plenty of happy memories of my time in the M40i.

10 weeks on from the M40i going, its still for sale at the dealership and is now reduced to just a £1000 more than I was given for it in August. Had a look over it on Friday and the car has been detailed really well. The dealership has spent some money on preparation and it looks great. Someone will get a fantastic car!!

I'll remain on the forum to be sure of getting my regular dose of Z!
