Cannondale Carbon Rush 2 Mountain Bike Carbon Fibre SOLD!

Post by dan yeates » Mon Jan 16, 2012 9:48 am

Hi,

Well, the house purchase is going through and I need to raise a few thousand pounds! Therefore, reluctantly, I've decided to sell a few things, namely my bike and watch. This advert is for my Cannondale Carbon Rush 2 mountain bike. It's 2008 with very little use. Approximately 10 outings a year and only in the summer in dry conditions. It's stored in my house so it's never seen the wet or mud and is therefore in great condition. Just a few scratches on the swim arm.

Spec:

Cannondale Carbon Rush 2 frame
Cannondale Carbon Lefty fork DLR2
Fox Float RP23 air rear shock (recently serviced by Mojo)
Shimano XT disc brakes, recent new brake pads and upgraded discs to larger size
Shimano XT gearset
FSA/Cannondale carbon cranks and rings
FSA carbon handlebars
FSA carbon seat post
Magnesium pedals
Cannondale stem
Cannondale Carbon Si bottom bracket
Mavic rims and tubeless tyres

Incredibly light and very capable mountain bike. Weighs approximately 11kg, weighed on my bathroom scales. This price represents a huge saving from new. This bike was £3,600 new without the many upgrades. Very light use, although the swim arm does have a few Light scratches.

Blue and black in colour and size M.

I'm asking £1,400

Nice bike and good spec. Not sure about the single fork but would be a decent buy for someone at that price.
Hope you get a quick sale, Dan?

Thanks, lets hope so. I'll put it on ebay in a few days if I get no interest from the forums.

Out of interest, why did you find the need to get the Fox RP23 rear shock serviced by MOJO when it had only been used infrequently? :?

I was told to get it serviced once a year and I'd never had it done, so thought I would. Plus they put in the right amount of gas (can't remember what it is they use, but it's not standard old air!) for your body weight.

OK. Sounds like you've never had to put in additional air yourself. I have a Trek carbon frame MTB with Fox Vanilla Air shock and have looked to upgrade to a RP23 shock. I use to use a pocket shock pump but now use a Track Pump to keep it around the 150lb air pressure mark. Never heard about 'special' gas that MOJO use. :?

Not just any lefty either, the carbon DLR2 lefty! It is a lot of bike for the money. It weighs virtually nothing, you can lift it over gates with one hand with ease. It takes a bit of getting used to, riding a bike so light, but it's fantastic when you do.

No, I've not topped it up myself.

Here is what Mojo do... http://www.mojo.co.uk/Website2010/html/ ... rvice.html
Once everything is tightened up to Fox specs we can gas the shock with nitrogen to the specified IFP pressure.

Just to edit, it's a Fox Float RPL shock, not an RP23. It's the model with adjustable rebound and a 3 way selector. You can select "open" this is the normal soft mode, "pro-pedal" this makes it a lot firmer and "lock-out" which is completely rigid.

The fork can also be locked out rigid, so it can be ridden as a hard tail or as a full rigid bike if required with the flick of a switch.
