My wife has been fighting cancer the last three years and as a result, has plenty of hospital procedures. She had a Suprapubic catheter bag fitted on Tuesday and is home in bed rest. I’ve booked the week of to ensure she ok, but it also means lots of tinkering time when I’m not being nurse!
The Z4 and other 2nd cars before it have been my savior and keep my head straight!
 
Todays update.
Finished the Oil filter changed at last and fresh oil put in. I put in 6L having drained out 4.5L. I suspect it hasn’t had an oil change in a while.
I’m having headlight issues I’m trying to sort out. The right headlight doesn’t function at all. The
xenon bulb works in the opposite side, as does the igniter, and the two of them together, but nothing works on the drivers side. I’m not really sure where to go next with that? Any suggestions?
In that note, can you buy the seals that fit into the headlight rear cover? BMW only sell the full cover. Water has got into the Right side headlight, so just as well replace both of them.
Then time for a clean. Two buckets of hot soapy water and lots of elbow grease, and it’s looking ok. It needs a good clay bat session and probably and professional cut and polish, but need to sort the passenger wing first and the other more serious bodywork issues.

Massive thanks to ‘True-Blue’ for tipping me off about a PY Convertible being broken not too far from me.
I’ve bought both front wings, both doors, minus glass and inserts, both sill covers and the front bumper!!! I’m collecting them all tomorrow morning.
This is making me very happy, I just hope the colours are pretty similar.

This forum is the absolute business!!!

No progress as such today, but an unexpected bit of good fortune in that someone local to me (The Zed Shed) was breaking a PY convertible. A few what’s app messages later and I’ve agreed a price on this lot!
Two wings, two sill covers, two doors, and a front bumper! I just hope the colour match is ok.

Hello folks.
No work on the car today, but I have secured a load of spare body panels for it.
Here is a link to the video on YouTube.
Next job will be bumper off, headlights out and swapping the ballast to see if that’s at fault.
Then swap the wings over and think about booking an MoT!
