Z3 project...no going back now!

If it were genuine, it would be interesting to leave it in that condition - looking ratty but still beautiful and, unbeknown to most, worth millions.

Can’t wait to see it painted.
Me neither Mikey. Although the first thing to get to the bottom of is those ridiculous arch gaps. I am scratching my head as to why it looks to be sitting so high TBH. I know the body is fitted correctly, so it can't be that. Lowering springs will help....but not enough as it stands.

I can just see it now....."up for auction in the next Hollywood auction at Bonhams is a rat-look 250 Gt California spyder SWB. One of one. Bids to start at $27,000,000'.

Got the car back last week and been working day and night.
I went for a more traditional red in the end and got the upholstery done while the car was away.
Finished!

Read through this thread last night for the first time, the amount of effort and presumably pain you've gone through in here is astounding. The result is so worth it though, looks absolutely exceptional. Great work.

I was quite surprised that you’d moved house in the same week that the car was finished. No wonder you were working 24h :)

Alright, so I lied.
The car in the pictures above isn't mine! I wish mine was at that stage.
That one has just been completed by my 'mentor', who has helped me tirelessly for the past 15 months. Without him I would have given up long ago.

It is probably the best built 250 Cali you will ever find. His knowledge and attention to detail is amazing. It is the second one he has built, so that helped, but it is absolutely perfect. If I can get mine anywhere near the quality of that one, I will be a very happy bunny. :)

That one is only a 2.2 M54, mine is a 3.0 M54 and it has 35k more miles on than mine. But it is still beautiful.
