Z4 G29 Delivery Delays

You two are having a laugh :poke:

In all seriousness though, you can’t as the TPMS sensors need assigning first :P

[ref]sars[/ref], Very nice indeed.

It's that old bugger [ref]Argyll Andy[/ref], leading innocent young me astray.

Thank you, they’re going to look fab

[ref]ori[/ref], thanks, no just for the winter, will be fitted with Continental AllSeasonContacts 255/35 R19

The alloys were £1,270 delivered, I already have the AllSeasonContacts and TPMS sensors on the winter SL alloys, I think the tyres were £685 and the £195 for the set. If you can get hold of the new Michelin CrossClimate 2’s they’re a better bet.

Demon-Tweeks have the wheel and Continental’s in that size

Oh and my car is still code 182 passed to carrier, that’s 12 days without moving, absolutely pants

Not sure I could bring myself to run a brand spanker over winter.....

Which is crazy but OCD is strong when it comes to cars......

That’s actually not as bad as I thought.
I really can’t justify that though as seriously the weather in london is rarely that bad. The 1 week we get of snow is safer to stay off the roads as people really can’t drive.

As for your code being 182. That’s were mine got stuck for 2 weeks. I reckon tomorrow it will change to 190 which is where mins is currently stuck.

The estimate is 3 weeks from when it reaches code 190.
I’ve reached the stage where if it hits December delivery, I’m going to ask them not to register the car until Jan.

[ref]john-e89[/ref], it’s there to be used, a tool, a very nice tool, but a tool non the less

[ref]ori[/ref], if it’s three weeks from code 190, that means delivery end of November, there’s no way I’d delay until January, but then again I’m carless and I don’t want to keep adding miles to my partners Golf

Afraid I'm with john-e89 on this one!

Mine has never seen a gritted road in its life and isn't likely to see one either. I bought it knowing is was a summer only toy. The current car went into the garage warm and dry and will suffer little or no deterioration.

However, if I were car less??? A set of winters and I would risk it as I'm sure at my age the car will outlast me no matter how it is treated.
The rust prevention on modern cars is a huge improvement to the 70's:90's cars.

I think that continuous use throughout the winter helps - but as I don't use the car frequently, that's when the serious deterioration would occur. So in the garage it stays!

[ref]sars[/ref], if it’s 3 weeks from code 190 (assuming no further delays), then your car should be with you 1st week of December.

Mine has been code 190 for a week. Not confident it will arrive in 2 weeks as estimated.

I’m an optimist so seeing that the last day of November is a Tuesday, I prefer to think that it’s the end of November not the beginning of December. I think it’s called PMA :D

Anyway, update to today it’s now code 190 delivery w/c 22/11/2021

[ref]ori[/ref], [ref]sars[/ref], I'm assuming you had delivery dates given around the time of order and these are now weeks/months out? Have either of you asked your dealer how they intend to compensate for these delays?

They will assume you’ll just be overjoyed to to have the car!

Told you it would go code 190. Mine did on a Thursday too. ;)

So mine is still code 190. Dealer has it as arriving WC the 22nd, although bmw “genius” says the following week which means December delivery for sure. As I’ve said if that’s the case I’m holding off until Jan for the car registration.

I’ve also found out that code 190 means in transit/storage which would explain why after a week of being code 190 it is still not reached the port.

I know you’re optimistic and I respect that, but I am not so confident.

I haven’t asked the dealer, but I have written to
BMW customer services and point blank asked for a gesture of goodwill.
I doubt they will offer me anything. Even though they really should do something.

Hope you get somewhere with it, at the very least I'd be looking for some free servicing.
