A superb penultimate f1 race in store , or , maybe not !!

As I said on page 5 of this thread on Thursday, this race is about tyres. Lewis has the faster car (ffs you must agree by now), so Red Bull had to adopt a different strategy and despite flat spotting one front left tyre, still had to do something different. They did, and are definitely looking at a two-stop strategy. When they stop is crucial and has to be decided as the race progresses. Can they outwit Toto Wolfe's team of expert strategists, we have to wait and see. This is more about the strategists than it is is about Lewis or Max, unless of course a pissed off Bottas decides to take out Lewis on turn 3 and say, "Bye Mercedes."

Ok, conspiracy hat on here... would Verstappen potentially benefit from an "engineered" safety car incident?

Things like that never stay secret and the fallout from Renault 'Crashgate' in 2008 when Piquet Jr staged a deliberate crash would probably put Winging Spice off the idea - I don't think he'd like being banned from F1

Whinging Spice, I like that :D, but if you imagine him in a Union Flag mini skirt, then perhaps I don't. :o

Mercedes strategists have engineered failure from certain victory for Hamilton on numerous occasions.
If it’s decided by strategy, RB will win. If it’s decided through fair racing, Hamilton should win. If blind aggression and testicle size are important, Verstappen will be world champion this year.

Well that answers that question then, lol

The irony of the whole thing is that if Lewis had not got ahead of Max at the start he would have been the one calling the shots on the pit stops.
Oh well......................

What a crock of sh1t
Indeed that was harsh, certainly F1 isn’t showered in glory today, maybe I’m biased but that has been the season in a nutshell Mercedes managed the race until the last lap where they got shafted for playing it safe.

I really wanted Max to win (or rather wanted a new champ), but really feel for Lewis there... hate his politics, but he was mugged there.

I too hate all his politics but he’s an exceptional fair driver who rarely makes mistakes not like the opposition who drives like he’s on the fairground dodgems.

Is it just me or does the Dutch National Anthem sound like Little Town of Bethlehem?
