A superb penultimate f1 race in store , or , maybe not !!

I am glad that Hamilton did not win an eighth title. An extremely fast car compared to the rest for 8 years is just too much. Most wins were easy. All I can say about Max is, that he stopped Hamilton winning an eighth title.

Nice to see Lewis congratulate Max and the RedBull team instead of spitting the dummy out like Max and Horner have done all season.

Nice to see Max congratulate Ham on his last 4 wins in a row every time they finished.

Both teams have bleated, moaned and cried to the stewards in equal measures all season.

Would Merc be throwing the dummy about the last lap letting cars through if they'd done what RB did pitting for softs...? No, they wouldn't, they'd have said let them race. Simple fact is they were outsmarted at the death.

Mercedes’ are spiting their dummy out because they were outsmarted by Red Bull.  Well done Max you made my day.Toto suck it up.

Interesting dynamic that there is an appeal process in F1 that can alter the result of a race. They don't have the same thing in football... or Maradonna's "Hand of God" would have been overturned. Wonder why F1 is different?

Really would hate for it to be overturned now... fans get robbed of the propper celebration, Max gets the win ripped away, Lewis misses out on potentially the biggest podium celebration of his career.... really would not be a good look for F1.

I do think that there needs to be a big shake up in the FIA though... they used to have a sort of "Drivers Union" didn't they? I remember Mark Webber headed it up at one point... Need to get the drivers, teams and FIA all round the table in the off months and get the rules well and truly sorted, there is no room for subjectiveness in a lot of these cases.

Also, I don't see Mercedes as spitting the dummy at all really, it is a legitimate complaint and measures need to be put in place to ensure it does not happen again... but as for overturning the result, I hope not.

+1. Not Max or Lewis's fault the final result. The stewards / FIA made a total mess at the end 'for the show' which is a shame. If they wanted that last lap shoot out, should have red flagged it and allowed them both on new tyres for a restart.

Still as you say, would be even worse now to mess with the result further, hopefully lessons will be learned and Masi will go. We don't need these choregraphed things in racing, I'll watch WWE if I wanted that!

It's a shame the whole thing has soured the celebrations of a great season overall, not how it should be and the FIA can only blame themselves for that.

My turn.
WHAT A FARCE (AGAIN)!
If barging your way past everyone no matter what makes you the best driver, then little Max is the best ever.
The race management f*cked that last lap thing right up. By trying to make the best spectacle and dramatic finish they handed the championship to Versmacken.
Lewis stayed on the podium, congratulated Max and his dad shook hands with Jos and Mr Halliwell. Didn't see 'dribbler' Max doing that last week.
AND Verstappen was born in Belgium! :D

If they overturn the decision it will make it even more of a farce.

Look back at Spa.........two laps behind the safety car then declared it a race and points awarded......all to keep the shareholders happy, I suppose the fans shouldm't be surprised how this years Drivers Championship was decided :headbang:

Yep will be a shocker if it gets overturned.

Absolute farce though. Shame for Max it will never be a ‘clean’ championship win.

I dont think Max understands the concept of "clean"

I've got a suggestion:
The race result stands.
Max get 9 points deducted for 'unsporting behaviour' on the podium last week.
Sounds fair to me :D
The FIA can only penalise themselves for breaking their own rules; how can that work?
I have a feeling Mr Masi may be looking for a new job next year. Maybe in charge of VAR in football? :D

Honestly all this whingeing over a guy that races like they used to in't tholden days....what do you guys want, a traffic light system saying wether they're allowed to make a move or not...?
